8 Beauty mistakes you should avoid

Every day, in front of our mirror, we are full of good intentions. Cleaning, care of all kinds, makeup… and yet, sometimes we make beauty mistakes without realizing it. I offers you its top 8 beauty mistakes that we all make, in order to take better care of ourselves!
1. Cleaning your face in the shower
After a long day at work, you have only one idea in mind: a good hot shower to relax and breathe! Hop in the shower, and while you’re at it, why not clean your face at the same time? It is a small saving of time and energy, but be careful with the result: the hot water of the shower will dilate the pores and dry the skin. When you get out of the shower, the pores are visible and the skin is dehydrated. And even then, it’s only in the best of cases, if you’ve used a facial cleanser!
In fact, it is better to avoid using a shower gel to clean your face, because the pH of body soaps is much too basic for facial skin, which, faced with such aggression, will secrete sebum at all costs, causing an imbalance in the hydrolipidic film and the appearance of imperfections. The cleaning of the face must be done with fresh water, with a cleanser adapted to your type of skin.
2. Skip makeup removal
At 4 a.m., when your bed is calling after a long party, makeup removal can sometimes seem like an insurmountable task. And yet, throughout the day, we accumulate makeup, pollution, dust, and sweat on our skin. Underneath all these layers, the skin quickly suffocates, and usually uses the night to breathe and regenerate.
When you don’t remove your makeup, your skin can’t breathe, and the next day it’s a disaster: dullness, irritation, imperfections, and wrinkles. For the beauty of your skin, fight against fatigue for 5 more minutes: an express cleansing and a touch of moisturizer and off to bed!
3. Don’t leave your moisturizer on
If there’s one mistake we’ve all made in the morning, it’s not leaving our moisturizer on. In the race not to be late, you allow yourself 15 minutes maximum to put on your makeup. Time flies and every minute counts. After a quick cleansing, you apply your moisturizer, and that’s where it gets complicated: to fully benefit from the benefits of your cream, you need to leave it on for a good 5 minutes so that it can completely penetrate the skin tissue and moisturize it deeply. If you apply your foundation first, it may act as a barrier and the cream will remain on the surface, disrupting the makeup’s hold. To avoid wasting time, wash your face and apply your cream as soon as you get up. In the meantime, go have breakfast or do your hair before continuing with your makeup!
4. Skip the eye area
During our morning and evening beauty routines, we are quick to forget an essential: eye contour care. With skin that is 10 times thinner than the rest of the face, the eye area is one of the first areas exposed to expression lines. The skin wrinkles, becomes irritated and crow’s feet appear. For some women, skin aging manifests itself in the form of puffiness or dark circles, while others are more prone to sagging skin.
To prevent these signs and keep a toned look, eye contour care is your ally! In the morning, it wakes up the area and decongests, for a radiant look. In the evening, it relieves the eye contour area and restores moisture. To meet everyone’s needs, our Eye Magic eye contour is available in three versions: anti-wrinkle, anti-dark circle, anti-puffiness and lifting. To each her own Eye Magic!
5. Choosing the wrong anti-aging product
Choosing an anti-aging skin care product can be a real headache, with an endless choice of products that are not always the same. To be sure not to make a mistake, many of us opt for a global anti-aging care. On a daily basis, the application of a global anti-aging care is a very good gesture, since it will preserve the youthfulness of the skin and prevent the appearance of aging marks. But, yes, there is a but, it does not necessarily correspond to the precise problems you are facing.
In addition to the overall anti-aging treatment, you need to use a treatment that meets your needs: a lifting anti-wrinkle serum for those who have marked wrinkles, a treatment for pigment spots for those who are prone to them, a plumping cream for those whose skin lacks tone, an eye and lip contour treatment for those prone to expression lines. It is by using products that really correspond to your needs that you will see real improvements!
6. Skip the sun care
We can’t stress enough that ultraviolet rays, especially UVA, are the primary cause of skin aging. When you are exposed to the sun, it is essential to protect your skin. If we like to think of applying sun cream to our shoulders or neckline, we often forget about our face!
Replacing your day cream with a sun cream is a pain: it is not necessarily adapted to your skin, to your problems… and it doesn’t always go well with makeup! To make your summer beauty routine easier, we have designed Flash Protect: a tinted moisturizer with sun protection. Thanks to Flash Protect, you’ll have a radiant, luminous complexion while being protected from the sun’s rays.
7. Exfoliate your skin too much
After exfoliation, your skin feels soft, clean and fresh. You almost want it to be like that every day! However, skin exfoliation should be done at most twice a week. When the skin is exfoliated, the toxins lodged in the epidermis are eliminated, as well as excess sebum. The pores are tightened, the skin is oxygenated, ready to receive treatments that it will absorb better.
However, if used too often, the exfoliant will alter the skin’s protective film. In reaction, it will start to generate much more sebum to protect itself, which will make the complexion dull and the skin oily. As you can see, exfoliating your skin too much is counterproductive. To ensure that your exfoliation is well-balanced, limit masks to once a week.
8. Neglecting your lifestyle
Yes, we can’t get away from it: when we talk about beauty, we must also talk about lifestyle. Our body forms a whole, and in this whole, the skin, the hair, as well as the nails reflect our state of health. Even with the most effective beauty routine in the world, if the lifestyle does not follow, the results will not be there.
If there are nutritional deficiencies, hair and nails will be brittle and the complexion will be dull. If you eat too much fat, your hair and skin will tend to get greasy quickly, with imperfections as a result.
To preserve your beauty, make sure you have a regular sleep cycle, moisturize regularly, and limit foods that are too fatty, too sweet, or too salty. Also try to vary your diet as much as possible to get a good supply of vitamins and minerals.
